CAN MILLENNIALS CHANGE THE WORLD ?

WEEK 3 LECTURE TALK: CAN MILLENNIALS CHANGE THE WORLD?

From the talk given by Mr AJ Minai, he asked one question, which is "Can millennials change the world?" In my opinion, we truly can. In fact it is not an option, everyone can make a change, and everyone should make a change.

To change the world, one must possess the few basic skills in order to succeed:

1) Speaking publicly
First and foremost, one should overcome their stage fright. If you cant speak in front of a crowd how do you make sure you could possibly convey your message to thousands millions of people. Things happens through action, when you dare to speak it, you could achieve it. Presentation skill is far more important than just paper work.

2) Being honest with yourself
This skill should be possess because if you cant be honest with yourself, how do people trust you? Therefore, always tell yourself the truth, admire your own strength, overcome your own weakness. With that it will not only push you further, it makes you better.

3) HAving comfidence
Having confidence in yourself and things you do is so important because if you're lack of confidence, no matter how great you are, people would not see it. Therefore, have confidence in yourself on which it gives confidence to people around you. Confidence brings you far for instant, fright slows you down and it makes you hesitate, hence with confidence it pushes to do your best and be the best version of yourself.

4) Listening
There was once being said " the smart one is always the last to speak". to elaborate, if one is wise, one will not simply say things that came to mind. Learn to listen because through listening one can absorb the knowledge that ignorant people don't take notice. That is what making one person stands out among all the other people.

5) Managing your time
A person with discipline is often the one with an accomplished work. To succeed in everything we do, managing the time on your hand is very important. Bishop T.D. Jakes said if he loses a house, he could buy a new house; if he loses anything he could buy it again but if he loses time, nothing can bring back wasted time. Wasted time equals to wasted money, wasted energy, wasted chance.

6) Stop whining
To succeed in life, one must learn not to whine, When you always complain and whine to people around, you will not only turn down their interest on you , it makes people think all you would do is just judging through the mouth. The last thing a person needs is a negative influence in life.

7) Staying present in the moment
There is no point living in the past as the past is already happened and one cannot do anything about it. There is no point stressing about the future either because it will makes you overthink on certain aspects and those aspects might just slow you down on the path youre heading to. Therefore, live in the moment, enjoy it and make the best out of it.

8) Being consistent
Being consistent is what makes you a trustworthy person. If one is always changing on plans or on words it will not gain the heart of audience, Whatever you are doing, there is always people observing. Therefore, consistency is the way to achieve a goals as little by little, you achieve bigger.

9) Getting enough sleep
well, we have heard alot about the negativity of sleeping late. Certainly, not getting enough sleep decrease your performance in works and anything you do. One with clear mind are the ones who can do things and think rationally. Therefore, getting enough sleep is part of the success road because mistakes that is being done through not having a clear and awake mind is what might cause a damage on your path.

10) Having empathy
Last but not least, having empathy. We are all humans and having empathy is part of the human behavior. With empathy you will know how to treat others the way you wanted to be treated and only then people will invest in you. Without empathy, one do will involve evils and that is actually the parasite of the society.

Through this talk, i have learnt that being successful is not an easy task. you have to step out of your comfort zone to see the bigger pictures. From my own opinion, i think that everyone possess skills stated above, just that putting it into good use is the choice of a person. Millennials definitely can change the world, the choice is always in our hands.
